Freedom of information Requests (FoIs)

For many years, those of us who have been inquisitive about WF have issued many FoIs to Government Departments, local authorities and to water companies in order to increase our understanding of this most vexatious "public health  measure".  By and large, we have been successful although lately, the DHSC  has proven to be resistant to some of our reasonable requests.

This page will gradually be populated with brief summaries of our questions and the respondents' replies.  Before the advent of "What Do They Know", most FoI requests were sent my Snail Mail and consequently, it is now proving difficult to identify them all.  Because WDTK stores all requests and replies, our task is made easier because there is little risk that we will lose sight of them.

It is not safe to swallow fluoride.

Three Freedom of Information requests have been made on this topic this Century, in 2014, 2018 and 2022.

We asked the same question: "please provide high quality research - random controlled trials, in particular - demonstrating that it is safe to swallow fluoride".  In all three cases the recipients could not provide the proof.

The links lead to the three requests and replies.

The oft repeated claim that Water Fluoridation is safe and effective is a spurious claim for which no evidence exists of safety.

2026 Requests

Following on from the decision to require Northumbrian Water Limited (NWL) to fluoridate the drinking water of the entire North-East, we sent a Freedom of Information request to the Drinking Water Inspectorate to ask about the timetable for installing the fluoridation equipment.  Much of our request was denied but to our amazement we were sent redacted copies of two "notes" of meetings between interested parties.  The Cross Government Water Fluoridation Group comprising involved Government Departments and water companies, etc., was formed in May 2025 and has met 4 times since via Zoom.  The Links below lead to the two "notes" for May 2025 and for September 2025.  The information about Greater London becoming fluoridated is contained in the September 2025 "notes".

Despite 80+ studies all pointing to fluoride reducing IQ in the unborn child and infant, despite two recent UK Government sponsored studies pointing to minimal reduction in dental decay when fluoride is swallowed by the unborn child, infant and adult, despite the very strong evidence that fluoride weakens bones and is a cause of hip fracture, despite the very strong evidence that fluoride is a cause of hypothyroidism and despite the strong evidence that fluoride has a part to play in the onset of diabetes mellitus, the UK Government has decided to close its ears to all proof that fluoride is harmful.

Such obduracy points to only one thing:  the UK Government and its Establishment is determined to continue to add a toxin to our drinking water and that toxin has nothing to do with water treatment and nothing to do with preventing dental decay.  There can be no other reason for poisoning our water than this being a depopulation strategy.

Moreover, not only does fluoride not reduce dental decay but fluoride is the cause of dental fluorosis.  Should Greater London become fluoridated, six to seven years after the fluoride taps are switched on, thousands of young children will show the signs of fluorosis in their teeth.  Dentists in London will then be well and truly occupied with fighting off angry parents.

That is a ghastly glimpse of the future.  It doesn't have to happen - just sign up to our Group Challenge to stop the politicians who say they care about us carrying out this scandalous strategy.

FoI Requests for 2024 and 2025 will appear here.

During 2025, we learned that OHID does not exist as a discrete department of DHSC and that its staff are scattered throughout the DHSC. This would explain why it has never had an information email address.
